How To Style A Midi Skirt

How To Style A Midi Skirt – Hello friends! Today let’s talk midi skirts. Recently I was going down memory lane and looking at a bunch of old photos. Can you believe I’ve been blogging for 9 years!?! I love looking back at old photos. I still remember when I really loved clothes or when I fell in love with certain fashion trends (do you remember the bubble necklaces???). Looking through old photos made me realize how much I love midi skirts. I have been styling them for years. I wore them to my corporate job, when I was pregnant, in summer and even in winter. This is an easy item to wear all year round. I love having a few in my closet and I know they will always be worn.

Fashion trends change frequently. For example, who knew clogs would ever come back into style?! It’s hard to figure out what to invest in. Something I love this year may end up sitting in the back of my closet next year. But, I am sure that midi skirts are here to stay. I have worn it for years and wear it all year round!

How To Style A Midi Skirt

Have I convinced you that you need a midi skirt yet? Not sure how to style it? Don’t worry – I’ve listed some tips below on how to style a midi skirt during every season. Hope this helps!!

How To Wear A Midi Skirt With A Graphics T Shirt

I always love wearing midi skirts during the spring and summer months. And now that I am a mother, I love them more. I instantly feel like I’ve upgraded my style when I grab one. But, it is still active. I don’t have to worry about someone flushing when I run to pick up a spilled sippy cup. During the warmer months, I go for a more flowy midi skirt. The airflow that soft skirts provide is essential in the Texas heat. And I almost always pair it with a t-shirt or tank top. Both the tank and the tee can be tucked into the skirt. Or, for a fun detail, you can tie the tee to cinch in at your waistline. I wear sandals or tennis shoes with a skirt. It gives the whole outfit a more “relaxed” feel. If I want a more polished look, I’ll wear a pair of chunky heels. Pair with a purse or belt bag to complete the look.

For fall and winter, I replace my tee with a long sleeve shirt or I pair it with a jacket. I usually wear shoes or boots during these months. If I’m wearing a skirt with shoes, I usually choose toe shoes. A pointed toe elongates the entire look. For really cold days, you can wear over the knee boots with a skirt. If you wear a jacket or cardigan, I recommend wearing a tight tee or tank underneath to add some depth and shape to your outfit. If you want a more casual look, try pairing your skirt with a chunky sweater and sneakers. Are you looking for a more polished look? Add a padded headband.

I wasn’t sure I would be able to pull off a midi skirt when I was pregnant. But, I ended up loving her. My best tip is to find skirts with elastic waistbands. My second tip is to wear your skirt above your bum. The elastic waistband hugs your hips, which gives you some shape. I chose to wear a tight top tucked into a skirt. Again, it made my figure stand out a bit more. I tried wearing it without a top, but it didn’t work. Are you pregnant during the summer months? You can tie a tee that hangs over the top of a skirt or wear a crop top.

Midi skirts are great for work or formal events. The length of the skirt is perfect for this type of situation. I recommend grabbing a skirt with texture to create a more sophisticated look. I love wearing a velvet skirt, pleated skirt, or silk skirt for formal events. Pair the skirt with a top that can be tucked in or draped over the top of the skirt. I would recommend wearing a collared top to work. Add some beautiful jewelry and heels to finish off the look.

Don’t have a midi skirt but love the look? Then the midi dress is the next best option. Add a tight top on top and tie it at your natural waist.
