Winter Fashion Essentials For Women

One of the most important items in the winter wardrobe is the classic wool coat! Erin is wearing a camel, soft, warm, and cozy Mackage coat. This color is classic and versatile but you can go with any neutral you choose… black, beige, grey, navy, etc. There are so many options for warm coats that it can be difficult to choose one. But if you’re looking for ultimate warmth, you’ll want to make sure your coat is made from a warm fabric like wool, cashmere, wool or a cashmere blend. Coat Erin is wearing a wrap style coat, which is very slim and helps shape the waist. But you can go with a classic overcoat, a single coat, a double coat, a coat (only if you live in a cool place), etc. Another consideration is the length of your dress. The one Erin is wearing is medium length but you can go longer if you want that full body warmth! We’ve put together a few options in different styles, colors, lengths, fabrics, and prices below.

The next winter essential that you need, if you live in a cold place, is a puffer coat or jacket. We’re featuring three of Erin’s favorites above. The first is Sam’s regular navy. that Erin had them for years (and she has many colors). The second is a puffer vest made of the same type that is perfect for those who live in cooler climates. And the third is a long puffer by Herno which is the go-to brand for all women in Telluride, Colorado, and is Erin’s favorite puffer brand for deep warmth! When it comes to puffer coats or jackets, you’ll want to consider all the same things we mentioned for a fur coat… color, style, fabric, and length!

We’ve linked some options below but if you’re interested in more of the most popular puffer brands, be sure to check out the next post.

If you live in a cold climate, you can never have too many cashmere sweaters. But not just any cashmere sweaters…high quality cashmere sweaters! Erin’s go-to products are quality sweaters that wash and wear well, don’t heal, and are warm.

Unveiling Women’s Winter Fashion Essentials

Styled by Aqua Cashmere and C by Bloomingdale’s. Both are Bloomingdale’s brands that have worn Erin for years. All four of the sweaters Erin is wearing above are from those two brands. Love the fabric, the fit, and each sweater has details that make them a little bit special.

Along the same lines, you’ll want to make sure you have warm pieces. This includes sweatshirts, long sleeves and tees, bodysuits, turtlenecks, etc. These pieces seem insignificant where you can really add warmth. Your layering pieces will depend on your style and lifestyle but we recommend getting two or three warm pieces, which can be worn on their own, or layered under other sweaters and outerwear. In the photo above, Erin is wearing a black turtleneck sweater by AG Jeans that is lightweight yet warm and layers well under anything. We’ve put together some classic options below.

In addition to layering pieces for your top half, you may need some layering pieces for your bottom half. If you run a lot, it’s a good idea to get leggings that you can wear underneath your jeans and pants. In the picture above, Erin is wearing a pair of Spanx pearls with fur inlays. Love these leggings on their own (when it’s really cold) or a layer under jeans when they need extra warmth (anyone else sitting at the kids’ outdoor games for hours freezing their bums off?!). We’ve put together some warm leggings for you below as well.

Next, you will need waterproof or waterproof boots or boots. This is especially important if you live in an area that gets a lot of snow or rain during the winter months. Erin is wearing chic boots from La Canadienne. This is one of her favorite brands of stylish weatherproof boots…because why do we have to sacrifice fashion for functionality, right?! These boots have a great tread, are waterproof, and have a cool belt detail that’s on trend and chic. Some of Erin’s favorite stylish yet functional shoes are Sorel, Blondo, and Aquatalia. You can go with classic Chelsea boots, car boots, ankle boots, or whatever your style is! But we’ve put together some options for you below.

Winter Fashion Essentials For Your Wardrobe

Moving on to other accessories to have in your winter wardrobe…first up are gloves! But not just any gloves… we recommend grabbing a tech-friendly pair so you never have to take them off to use your phone. And of course, they have to be warm! The gloves worn by Erin on the left are by Carolina Amato, a blend of wool and leather, and very unique. These gloves have a gray, synthetic fleece that can be removed, rolled up, or worn as a sleeve. The gloves are very warm and great value for quality! On the right, Erin is wearing cashmere leather gloves that are professional, incredibly affordable, and come in a few colors.

The next accessory for winter should be a warm hat! This can be a faux fur hat, headband, beanie, etc. It’s up to you and your style! The black hat Erin is wearing is from Etsy and sold out but we put together a similar option. The second option is a faux fur headband, which is more chic and glam. But remember that an exposed head means you will get cold faster. Both are great options, but we’ve linked neutral, stylish, and warm hats below.

Next, you’ll need a scarf or two. We recommend getting a few neutral options so you can play around with what cuffs you wear with your outfit. Just make sure they are made of warm materials like cashmere or wool. We’ve included both of the beautiful scarves Erin is wearing below along with other options. By the way, the big scarf Erin is wearing in the last photo is now on sale and it’s 100% cashmere… you won’t believe the price!

The ultimate winter wardrobe essential is stylish, comfortable loungewear. In the photos above, Erin is wearing two different Vuori sets. If you haven’t tried any of Vuori’s products, just trust us… they’re good. The fabric is incredibly soft and fluffy and the fit is amazing! You can wear both sets at home or throw on your favorite camel or black coat, some boots, and you can run for a quick walk or take the kids!
